Rappelz - New Pet: Gnoll

The Gnoll is a stalwart but feral companion that will guard its owner with its life. It can protect you and add to your own defensive abilities with its Shield Block unity. Its Reflecting Shield skill can even turn your foes’ damage against them!

The Feral Tribe

Snarls and howls ripped across the southern fields of Crystal Valley. The smell of fur and blood permeated the air. Two young Deva warriors crouched behind a crystal rock formation and watched the strange creatures they had discovered.

The creatures were as big as men and walked on two legs, but they had snouts like hyenas and were covered with fur. The Deva men had named them Gnolls, after a creature of myth. The Gnolls wore crude armor and wielded cruder weapons – wooden clubs and stone axes that lacked in grace but demonstrated brutal effectiveness. They sparred with each other, favoring a defensive style that utilized a shield. They howled and snarled and whirled in the air – their combat seemed more like a dance than combat training.

“What are they doing?” Lars, one of the Deva warriors, asked his companion.

His friend Boris shook his head. “I don’t know. Some sort of ritual?”

A loud, baleful howl erupted from across the fields. The creatures stopped their combat dance and immediately began to congregate in the center of the valley.

A massive Gnoll, as tall as six men, strode through the mountains. It had a retinue of other Gnolls in tow, an honor guard that clustered around it. It bore a massive axe and a shield that glowed red with power. The earth rumbled when it walked, and its voice boomed in the air like thunder. The other Gnolls looked like children next to it, but they knelt on the ground before the giant and howled plaintively. The giant stood amongst the throngs of its followers and spoke in a foreign, snarling language.

“They’re worshiping it... like it’s some kind of god,” Lars observed.

“It’s just a beast,” Boris replied.

“But look at it! It’s enormous!”

Boris shook his head. “They’re just some primitive tribe. They don’t know about the Goddess.”

“Still,” his companion whispered, gazing down at the savage creatures intently, “if only we could harness that ferocity. We could tame them, and make them our allies.”

Boris laughed. “Good luck taming a beast like that. But you’re right,” he mused. “With one of those protecting you, you would be almost unstoppable.”

Lars couldn’t tear his eyes away from the tribal ritual. That power would be his.

Reflecting Shield

A shielding buff that reflects a percentage of incoming damage.

Stunning Strike

A powerful blow that deals damage and stuns the target.

Surging Storm

A whirlwind attack that blasts the target and nearby enemies, dealing damage and reducing Accuracy.

Rapid Strikes

Strikes the target with 3 attacks in quick succession.

Unity: Gnoll

Increases the P. Attack, Block Rate, and Block Defense of both the pet and owner.

Creation: Gnoll Potion

Gives the player a 1 hour buff that increases P. Atk., Block Rate, and Block Defense.
